Composition: Each 1 ml contains:
- Oxytetracycline ( as HCl ) 30 mg
Indication:
Oxyvet-Pharma 3 %Injection is indicated for treatment of:
- Shipping fever pneumonia cause by Pasteurella multocida and Mannheimia haemolytica and Mycoplasma bovis in cattle.
- Anaplasmosis caused by Anaplasma marginale in cattle.
- Theileriosis caused by Theileria parva in cattle.
- Listeriosis caused by Listeria monocytogenes in ruminants.
- Pneumonia caused by Pasteurella haemolytica in sheep and goat
- Control of enzootic abortion in sheep caused by Chlamydia abortus
- Chlamydial conjunctivitis caused by Chlamydia spp. in dogs and cats
- Ehrlichiosis caused by Neorickettsia (Ehrlichia) risticii in horses.
Dose:
- 1 – 5 ml Oxyvet-Pharma 3% / 15 kg b.wt for 3 – 5 days by intramuscular or intravenous injection.
Contra-Indications:
- Not to be used in animals with hypersensitivity to tetracyclines.
- Avoid subcutaneous injection or concurrent corticosteroids in horses.
- Not to be used in sheep producing milk for human consumption.
- Not to be used before last half of pregnancy
Side Effects:
- May cause vomiting and diarrhea.
- Photodermatitis.
- Transient swelling at site of injection.
Warnings:
- Administrated with extreme caution in pregnancy, and to be used only in the last half of pregnancy.
- Oxytetracycline used cautiously in animals with renal or hepatic impairment, and to be used lower than normal doses with monitoring of renal and hepatic function.
- Avoid subcutaneous injection or concurrent corticosteroids in horses.
Withdrawal:
- Cattle: 35 Days for meat and 6 days for milk
- Sheep: 14 days for meat
Storage:
- Store at temperature not exceeding 30 C.
