Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
- Vitamin E acetate 20 mg (Eq. to Vitamin E 20 IU)
- Sodium selenite 0.8 mg (Eq. to Selenium 0.36 mg)
Indication:
Tocosel – B is recommended for the prevention and treatment of selenium-tocopherol deficiency in cattle, sheep and poultry.
Dose:
- Cattle: 10 ml Tocosel-B / 67 kg.B.wt / day for 3 – 5 days ( 3 IU Vitamin E and 66.6 μg Selenium / kg) to be given orally.
- Sheep: 1 ml Tocosel-B / 6.7 kg.B.wt / day for 3 – 5 days ( 3 IU Vitamin E and 66.6 μg Selenium / kg) to be given orally.
- Poultry: 1 ml Tocosel-B per liter of drinking water for 3 – 5 days ( 2 IU Vitamin E and 36 μg Selenium / kg).
Contra-Indications:
- Cases of selenium toxicity.
- Overdosing as selenium is toxic if administered in excess.
Side Effects:
- None at recommended doses.
Warnings:
- Selenium-tocopherol deficiency syndrome produces a variety and complexity of symptoms often interfering with a proper diagnosis.
- Even in selenium deficient areas there are other disease conditions which produce similar clinical signs.
- It is imperative that all these conditions be carefully considered prior to the treatment
Withdrawal:
- 0 day for milk, meat and eggs.
Storage:
- Store at temperature below 30 C.
