Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
- Marbofloxacin 40 mg
Indication:
Treatment of respiratory infections caused by strains of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae susceptible to Marbofloxacin
Dose:
- 0.5 ml Marbofloxswede / 10 kg b. wt in a single daily intramuscular injection, for 3 -5 consecutive days.
Contra-Indications:
- Do not use in cases where the pathogen involved is resistant to marbofloxacin and other fluoroquinolone (cross-resistance).
- Do not administer to animals known to be hypersensitive to marbofloxacin, otherquinolones, or to any of the excipients.
Side Effects:
- Transient local reactions such as oedema, pain and swelling at the injection site and inflammatory lesions which may persist for 6 days.
Warnings:
- Fluoroquinolones should only be used based on susceptibility testing.
- Use of the product deviating from the instructions given in the SPC may increase the prevalence of bacteria resistant to the fluoroquinolones and may decrease the effectiveness of treatment with other quinolones due to the potential for cross resistance.
Withdrawal:
- 6 days for meat and offal.
