Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
- Oxytetracycline HCl 53.96 mg (Eq. to 50 mg oxytetracycline )
Indication:
Oxyvet-Pharma 5% Inj. is indicated for treatment of:
- Shipping fever pneumonia cause by Pasteurella multocida and Pasteurella haemolytica in cattle.
- Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis in cattle caused by Moraxella bovis.
- Anaplasmosis caused by Anaplasma marginale in cattle.
- Theileriosis caused by Theileria parva in cattle.
- Listeriosis caused by Listeria monocytogenes in cattle and sheep.
- Pneumonia caused by Pasteurella haemolytica in sheep.
- Control of enzootic abortion in sheep caused by Chlamydia psittaci.
- Ehrlichiosis caused by Neorickettsia (Ehrlichia) risticii in horses.
Dose:
By intramuscular or intravenous injection.
- 1 ml Oxyvet-Pharma 5% Inj. / 5-10 kg B.wt. for 3 – 5 days.
Contra-Indications:
- Hypersensitivity to tetracyclines.
- Avoid subcutaneous injection or concurrent corticosteroids in horses.
- Not used in sheep producing milk for human consumption.
Side Effects:
- May cause vomiting and diarrhea.
- Photodermatitis.
- Transient swelling at site of injection.
Warnings:
- Care with use in animals with renal or hepatic impairment.
- Avoid subcutaneous injection or concurrent corticosteroids in horses.
Withdrawal:
- Cattle: Meat: 35 days. Milk: 6 days.
- Sheep: Meat: 14 days.
Storage:
Store at temperature not exceeding 30 C.
