Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
- Carprofen 50 mg
Indication:
- Morprofen Injection is indicated for reducing inflammation and pain during respiratory disease in cattle, in combination with suitable antibacterial if bacterial infection present.
- Morprofen Injection is indicated for analgesic and anti-inflammatory action in musculo-skeletal disorders and after surgery in horses and ponies.
Dose:
- Cattle (less than 12 months of age): 1 ml Morprofen Injection /35 kg.b.wt administered subcutaneously or intravenously as a single dose.
- Horses – Ponies : 1 ml Morprofen Injection /70 kg.b.wt by intravenous injection as a single dose.
This can be repeated after 24 hours if required.
Contra-Indications:
- Should not be used in cattle producing milk for human consumption.
- Should not be used in pregnant animals.
- Should not be used in race horses prior to racing.
- Do not administer other NSAIDs concurrently or within 24 hours of each other.
- Avoid use in any dehydrated, hypovolaemic or hypotensive animals.
- Avoid concurrent administration of potential nephrotoxic drugs.
Side Effects:
- Prolonged use may cause gastro-intestinal lesions, inappetence, vomiting, and diarrhea.
- Rarely transient swelling at injection site.
Warnings:
- Caution should be taken in treating any animal less than 6 weeks of age, or aged animals.
- Animals on long-term treatment should be monitored.
- Concurrent antibacterials should be given if bacterial infection present.
- Following withdrawal of the first dose, use remainder of the product within 28 days.
- Avoid the introduction of contamination during use
- For intravenous use only in the horse.
Withdrawal:
- Slaughter of cattle ( less than 12 months of age) : 21 days.
Storage:
Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C.
