Composition:
Each 1 gm contains:
- Colistin sulfate 250 mg (Eq. to 6 MIU Colistin)
Indication:
Colivet forte is indicated for the treatment and metaphylaxis of gastrointestinal infections due to non-invasive colistin-sensitive E.coli . The presence of the disease in the flock must be established before proceeding to metaphylactic treatment.
Dose:
Route of administration: Orally via drinking water
- Poultry: 1 gm Colivet forte / 8 liters drinking water for 3 – 7 consecutive days.
- Non- ruminant Calves and Lambs: 1 gm Colivet forte/ 60 kg body weight dissolved in drinking water for 3 – 7 consecutive days.
Duration of treatment should be limited to minimum time necessary for the treatment of the disease. Treatment duration should not exceed 7 days.
Contra-Indications:
- Don’t use in horses, particularly in foals since colistin due to a shift in gastrointestinal microflora balance could lead to the development of antimicrobial associated colistin (Colitis X), typically associated with Clostridium difficile which may be fatal.
Withdrawal:
- Meat: 1 day.

Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C
